BMC was established according to the law number (74) in 1971,after three companies joined together in one company owned completely to the national oil corporation. These companies are:
1. Al-Watanya
2. Al-Brega
3. Al-Sedra
Activities of the company:
The company is established to deal with marketing and distributing petroleum products in addition of related commodities all over the country. The company created facilities to complete its activities which are:
Established storage tanks, gas stations and taking care of the operation and maintenance of these facilities.
Renting and operating petroleum tankers and ships in addition of construction of pipeline networks for transporting the petroleum products.
BMC has a storage trucks and rents some others as needed for transporting operation of the petroleum products.
Design capacities and kind of products:
BMC did a good efforts to develop and renew the storage facilities and increase the storage capacities for all the products to go with the development and consumption of these products, which go side by side with the development observed in the Jamahiriya in all fields of life.
The most important products distributed by the company are:
LPG, Benzene 95, Domestic kerosene, Aviation kerosene, Diesel, Heavy fuel oil, Asphalt, Synthetic oil and lubricants, Gas cylinders, Battery & radiator water.
The original establishment in the past years, ongoing projects under construction and future planning:
The company has put a plan to face the local market needs from all kind of products and their derivatives. Therefore it has established a number of modern storage facilities with a large capacity in a different areas to provide marine facilities to be connected with these terminals. Also it has established a network terminal facilities in the airports to serve the planes.
On the other hand the company has established gas stations and domestic distribution gas centers in all over the country to provide the people needs. This reason makes the company to own a fleet of transporting tracks for fuel, lubricating oil plus gas cylinders. The company has established a unit of production of battery & radiator water for local consumption.
